Kids First Website

Home displays the most important info up front, with clear paths to get visitors the info they want Organizations are arranged into categories that best fit the services they perform Every organization is visually displayed on the map with groups of marks grouped into clusters Each business/organization can be edited by the public through a shared approval system Each organization has its own page filled with information about that organization Each organization allows users to get driving directions right from their location

the challenge

Convert an existing community asset database into a web based searchable tool for gathering information on important services to families with young children. The tool’s used had to be intuitive to the wide range of socio-economic users of Kids First’s services.

the solution

Integrating Webbuilders’ proprietary SwiftDirectory© with SilverStripe CMS and third-party database technology, the KidsFirst community directory provides information on over 1000 community service organizations. Each organization has its own webpage within the site, displaying critical information to that organization, Google map location and driving instructions. Diverse stakeholder groups can now control and edit their own information in one central web location. They can also feed events into a central events calendar database. This technology creates a unified and synchronized events calendar for the entire community.
