I recently read an interesting EBook from Impact Branding & Design titled 25 Simple Ways to generate more customers through your website. 5 of the tactics listed are commonly used by our clients and I thought I would share them with you.

1. Make your website mobile friendly

The volume of users accessing web content through mobile and touch screen devices is increasing every year. When users are searching content related to location, Google says that 40% of these searches are done using mobile devices. If your website isn’t mobile friendly you could be missing out on a lot of potential leads.

2. Keyword Selection

This isn’t the first time I’ve talked about keywords in our blog. Selecting keywords that are relevant to your business is critical to generating the right kind of traffic to your website. Having keywords in the proper locations on your site is also important. For example, key words should be used in the page title, page headers and even your image alt tags.

3. Create Landing Pages

I’ve also talked about the importance of landing pages in earlier blog posts. Landing pages or “lead capture pages” are web pages specifically built around keywords and a single theme or message. When created properly, they are the first page a user sees after clicking on a Google search result or a web advertisement for a particular search term. Landing pages are designed with a clear and concise message that will help with:

A) Generating prospects and helping turn those prospects into leads.

B) Encouraging a transaction such as the sale of an item or service.

Research suggests you could potentially generate a 25% boost in your conversation rate using a landing page.

 4. Start a Blog

Blogs on your website are an important tool in growing web traffic and new qualified leads. Regular blog postings keep your website fresh and current. Blogs also help promote your knowledge and understanding of your products and services. Do you know that business to consumer (B2C) companies that blog generate 88% more leads in a single month? Or that blog articles influence purchases? If you don’t have a blog you could be missing out on potential customers.

5. Make your website sharable

Another tactic I've talked about in a previous blog post is sharing your website. Make it easy for your users to share your website through social media channels. It will result in more exposure for your company, and who wouldn’t want that? Just look at the bottom of this blog post to see how easy we made it for you to share this article.
